Fox 36 Factory GRIP X2 Fork

Fox 36 Factory GRIP X2 Fork

The Fox 36 Factory GRIP X2 is a premium suspension fork built for aggressive trail and enduro riders who want excellent control and adjustability without the additional weight and stiffness of a Fox 38.

Combining Fox's proven 36mm chassis, highly adjustable GRIP X2 damper and Factory Series Kashima Coat, the Fox 36 delivers a balance of sensitivity, support and steering precision suited to modern trail and enduro bikes.

For riders who want a fork capable of being pushed hard but don't necessarily need the heavier-duty chassis of the Fox 38 or Podium, the 36 remains one of the most versatile options in Fox's range.

GRIP X2 Damper

The GRIP X2 damper gives riders extensive control over how the fork behaves across different terrain and riding conditions.

Independent high- and low-speed compression and rebound adjustment allows the fork to be tuned for sensitivity and traction while maintaining the support required for hard braking, compressions, jumps and high-speed riding.

Rather than relying solely on air pressure and rebound, GRIP X2 gives experienced riders considerably more scope to tailor suspension behaviour around their bike, terrain and riding style.

Proven 36mm Chassis

The Fox 36 uses a 36mm stanchion chassis designed to provide an effective balance between stiffness, steering precision and weight.

Compared with lighter trail forks, the 36 provides additional support when braking hard and riding aggressively through rough terrain. Compared with the Fox 38, it offers a lighter chassis for riders who don't require the additional stiffness of Fox's heavier-duty enduro platform.

That makes the 36 particularly well suited to capable trail bikes and enduro bikes where both climbing performance and descending capability matter.

FLOAT Air Spring

Fox's FLOAT air spring allows the fork to be adjusted for different rider weights and riding styles.

Air pressure establishes the initial spring rate and sag, while volume spacers can be used to alter progression and bottom-out resistance. Combined with the GRIP X2 damper, there is considerable scope to tune the fork rather than simply accepting the factory setup.

A properly set-up Fox 36 can provide excellent small-bump sensitivity while retaining the mid-stroke support and bottom-out resistance required when riding harder.

Factory Series

The Factory Series 36 features Fox's distinctive Kashima Coat finish alongside its premium GRIP X2 damping platform.

Kashima provides a hard, low-friction surface treatment to the upper tubes and gives Factory Series suspension its recognisable gold finish.

Fox 36 or Fox 38?

Choosing between the Fox 36 and Fox 38 comes down largely to the bike and how you ride it.

The Fox 36 is the better fit for riders looking for a lighter fork that can still handle aggressive trail and enduro riding. It provides plenty of chassis support without carrying the additional weight of the 38.

The Fox 38 steps up chassis stiffness for longer-travel bikes, heavier riders, aggressive enduro riding and eMTBs where the fork is subjected to greater loads.

For riders prioritising outright gravity performance and maximum chassis stiffness, the Fox Podium sits another step further in that direction.

Need Help Choosing the Right Fork?

Choosing a fork involves more than simply matching the wheel size. Travel, offset, steerer compatibility, axle standard and the intended travel range of your frame all need to be considered.

If you're unsure whether the Fox 36 Factory GRIP X2 is right for your bike, contact CB Cycles Australind with your bike model, year and current fork specifications and we can help confirm compatibility.

Professional installation and suspension setup are also available through the CB Cycles workshop, including assistance with air pressure, volume spacers and damper settings to establish a strong starting setup for your bike, weight and riding style.
