My experience with M2S Motor on the Amflow Carbon PL
Using existing screen and battery.

Needed to change the AXS plug and speed sensor over as they both use new plugs.

I also had to modify the old bash guards as it is a different shape.

Computer has 1300 watts available on the power settings.

*update*

I am an Amflow dealer. The bike pictured has been my main bike the last 16 months. I know it very well so was great to ride it to compare the motor differences. I pulled the motor out of one of my demo bikes as an experiment so I could compare the motor differences on a platform I knew very well.

Post ride thoughts..

M2S is a significant upgrade. It was plug and play. My old battery and computer worked straight away. My computer has original region code at 9999 from when it was available and still went to 60kmh.

Drag is significantly reduced. Pedalling with motor off is a hell if a lot easier. Still not like an analogue, it much easier than M1. I rode with a mate on his PL and we jumped back and forth to compare bikes.

Power is a lot more usable in the new system. I never rode the M1 in turbo as I would blow corners as it gave too much power. I rode a blind trail in Turbo today and was 2 seconds off the KOM in Strava.

The harder you pedal, the more power the bike gives. But this is good. Previously the bike would often give too much assistance and could be detrimental.

I rode up some steep roads intentionally at a very low speed. Then I started pedalling and the motor response was great. All of the power was useable in a controlled manner.

Most significantly of all.. The bike rolled so much faster when not pedalling. I can’t explain why, and can only attribute to lower drag, but when coasting between sections the bike wanted to accelerate away from me. I have only experienced this when I first started using Onyx hubs. I was on the brakes a lot more than usual because of the extra speed.

The bike is so damn quiet. I could hear my friends PL motor louder than my own motor when riding alongside each other. There is absolutely no rattle when descending at all now either.

Changing the motor over made a great bike into an even better bike. I was not worried about riding in turbo because it was so much more controlled.

Battery lasted much longer than my first ride on the PX. It has a smaller battery, but I was also riding in boost to get a feel for the new platform. M2S with 800wh battery is a great platform. I used around 10% more battery than my friend on an M1 Amflow over the same distance.

The motor is still sensitive to weight as the previous one was. At 110kg, I slightly pulled away from mates on M1 that weigh 60kg and 80kg when in boost at 1300 watts.

When we switched bikes and raced again with (me on M1), they left me behind very quickly.

The M1 is still a great product, but the M2S is even greater.

I have raced DH events on my PL Pro and the bike has never let me down. I have pushed it as hard as I can and have never had any issues. This is so much more than just a “Trail Bike”.

When I receive my XL PX I will update this to give my ride impressions on the new bike.

Happy to answer any questions anyone has.

I currently have both bikes in stock and all the parts I run on my bike are also available!
